a In a modern world where traveling between destinations is viewed as a waste
of time and resources, it is hard to actually comprehend the beauty of some of
the most spectacular rides on the planet. Far less comfortable, yet far more
beautiful and interesting, the time spent between two destinations is equally
captivating and offers many sights and sounds.

Raja Ampat (meaning: Four Kings) is an archipelago comprising over
1,500 small islands. It encompasses more than 40,000 sq. km. of land
and sea, which also contains Cenderawasih Bay, the largest marine
national park in Indonesia.
According to Conservation International, marine surveys suggest that
the marine life diversity in the Raja Ampat area is the highest
recorded on Earth.[2] Diversity is considerably greater than any other
area sampled in the Coral Triangle composed of Indonesia, Philippines
and Papua New Guinea. The Coral Triangle is the heart of the world's
coral reef biodiversity, making Raja Ampat quite possibly the richest
coral reef ecosystems in the world.
1,309 fish species, 537 coral species (75% of all species that exist in
the world), and 699 mollusk species are recorded here, the variety of
marine life is staggering.

Pictures from the peak of perfection: The man who climbs mountains in search of the ultimate photo.

Clinging on: Climber Pesche Wuthrich swings for another handhold
in the Alps on the border between Italy and Switzerland

Perilous: This image shows Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck
ice-climbing near Pontresina, Switzerland

Balancing act: Two climbers perch on top of Salbitnadel in Uri,
Switzerland, in another of Mr Bosch's stunning images

Perspective: Mr Bosch has spent nearly 40 years climbing the
Earth's highest peaks to get his images

Give me a leg up: Climbers half way up the artificial wall on
the Diga di Luzzone in Tessin

Staying cool: Ueli Steck ice axes in hand as he climbs near
Oeschinen in Bern, Switzerland

Eyes on the prize: Mr Bosch stands suspended at a 90 degree
angle on the artificial wall in Tessin, Switzerland

Bleak: The photographer counts Cerro Torre, in Patagonia,
Argentina, as one of the toughest to climb

Scaling new heights: This image shows ice-climbing on the
Godwin Austen Glacier in Pakistan with K2 in the background

Don't look down: Annatina Schultz makes her way up
The Fall on Klettern in Meringen, Switzerland

Nearly there: This close up was taken near the summit
of the wall as Mr Bosch was suspended over the drop
